The party in power didn't have a majority, and they were just about to announce the budget. If the budget doesn't pass (which it wouldn't have) then they'd have a vote of non-confidence and we'd have another election and hopefully kick those Liberals out of power. But Stronach crossed party lines just in the nick of time, leaving the vote tied; and unlike survivor, they don't build fire to decide who goes, the speaker of the house casts the deciding vote. And surprise surprise, he's a Liberal.
I find myself a little angry over this because I know I don't vote for the person; I vote along party lines. So if she was my MP I'd be calling her office and abusing the poor staff there.
