The Mother-in-Law actually showed up this week, which surprised me. We went out for dinner on Thursday and it was mostly OK. I had prepared myself for a three ring circus, which didn't happen so that was cool.

However...

We went to drop off presents this afternoon and it was like night and day. She was all mumbly and crying about something or other. And I think her last drinking binge really messed with her short term memory. 'Cause a conversation? So not happening.

If I'm lucky it will be another 3 years before she visits again.

I'm sorry Tan, you could take my approach to dating (although your usband might mind) and either dump them or have them die before you have to spend any amoutn of time with the relations.

Trust me, its a workable plan.
