I have an opinion (well holy jeeze)
Sep. 10th, 2002 12:01 pmI'm on a posting group that just finished having a very emotional discussion about plagiarism in vidding. Specifically taking chunks of a vid (scenes, transitions, speeds) and using them as their own, without permission.
The argument is a good one, I totally agree with it. What upsets me is the tone the discussion took. I came away from it preparing to defend all the work I had done on my own vids. Wondering if, the next time I post something, someone's going to sit down and go through it scene by scene and say "here at 1:30 is the same transition and clip as so-and-so's vid".
Probably won't happen, but that's the feeling I got. And like I said to someone else, I wouldn't be surprised if it stopped people from vidding and/or posting there.
