Friday Five
Aug. 29th, 2003 08:28 ambecause everyone else is doing it...
1. Are you going to school this year?
Nope.
2. If yes, where are you going (high school, college, etc.)? If no, when did you graduate?
A very long time ago...1999 University of Calgary, after an impressive seven year stint.
3. What are/were your favorite school subjects?
Geology, Geophysics, Math when it was easy, Ancient History (any time, any place).
4. What are/were your least favorite school subjects?
Human Geography, 45 minutes never lasted so long. And surprisingly, English. But only because I don't buy into a class where every thing's subjective.
I have a story...I wrote a thing in high school english where the girl gets pissed at this guy, and somehow (I can't remember how exactly) she's looking at a picture of them through broken glass in a picture frame. So, my english teacher circles the sentence and in great big bold letters writes "Great Symbolism!" And I'm staring at it thinking; Dude, she was mad and smashed the picture.
From that point on I've thought all English teachers try and see things that aren't there. [/end rant]
5. Have you ever had a favorite teacher? Why was he/she a favorite?
The guy in the story above :) He had a way of finding what you were good at and used it to encourage you. And I could do no wrong with him, which always helps.
