Broke down and bought "The Elements of Style" today. I thought it would be bigger, and wordy and make me feel like I'm back in 7th grade. But it's this tiny little pocket book with examples and everything, and it was only ten bucks.

And item #1 is: How to add 's to nouns. Which, apparently, I've been making a lot harder than it really is.
