I have to go to the dentist. I've been putting this off for years because the cavity I have is inbetween my two front teeth. And I'm told the freezing needle needs to go somewhere up my nose and near a sinus cavity. But it needs to be done before the real pain starts.

I'm doing a new task at work which give me a fancy title of Product Manager. But it really means I have to read and know a whole bunch of marketing stuff. And not the fun type either with pictures and slogans...but things like Disruptive Technology and Chasm Management. All of the product evaluation write ups have sapped my creative soul.

Dude my friend Jamie just had a cavities filled on 7,8, and 9 Mesial Lingual at my office yesterday. She survived and she's a baby. ;)

You can do it!

Once I make the appointment it'll be fine...it's the picking up the phone part that I put off :)

What's a 9 Mesial Lingual? And that sounds like a lot of work to have done all at once.

I tooth has six surfaces (and a cavity can be as small as one surface or all six). Mesial means middle. Lingual means the tongue side of the tooth. And the teeth are numbered. So my friend had three cavities (tooth 8,9, and 10) each of which had two surfaces of decay.

And there is your dental lesson for the day. :)

Once you are numb in an area, you are numb. There is no difference between having 1 or 5 done then. If you had three on one side of your mouth and 4 on the other, it would be a lot to do in one day. But cavities really don't normally hurt afterwards. They might be sensitive but it's not like a an extraction or anything.

Umm...How were we taught to eat that we have cavities in the same place? I had a filling done there years ago and I don't remember having a needle up my nose.

Which is something you *totally* would have heard about. So no worries, just do it and feel better, really. The root canal (while $$$) was totally worth it for the lack of pain and suffering.

Are you serious? That's the strangest thing ever.

Serious. Right in the middle of the two front teeth.

We also both broke our teeth on candy with-in two days of each other.

Spooky....

Must quiz mom on the eating thing, maybe she knows....

Eh, that does not sound pleasant. Good luck with that. ;) I have to go to my orthodontist next week. I've been putting it off for months because I'm lazy. I wish she would just take these dang braces off already. I swear my teeth are straight now.
