I'm a head-in-the-sand type of girl, so most everything I know about current events I've read in other peoples LJ's. Except for last night when the Husband made me watch the news. I've always thought our Prime Minister was kind of a dickhead (being Liberal and all), but that might all change with this.
"Prime Minister Jean Chretien announced on Monday that Canada would not commit troops to any attack that was not authorized by the U.N. Security Council, a decision the State Department described as disappointing.
"I'm sure they are disappointed, I knew that. We had to make a decision based on the convictions of the Canadian people and the Canadian government," Chretien told reporters.
Not to bad for a country that wants to be friends with everyone.

Was very impressed with Jean coming out and saying he wouldn't participate in the conflict without UN approval, we still have troops going overseas because we signed on for that whole "terrorism is bad" thing, should be interesting to see how it all plays out.
Is bad that I don't think the war with effect my everyday life?
Must go work, and decide if I should buy those plane tickets. 478 sounds like a good price.
Re:
As for the tickets, I think another company is having a seat sale as well. Let me check and i'll get back to you.
