A hard-drive on one of the computers at work actually caught on fire today. That doesn't usually happen and has caused quite the commotion.

Got an interesting review on the new fic. Said it was written in a good style and mixed with [my] kind of writing makes it kickass.

Now, ignoring the kickass part...I have a kind of writing, or a style? [livejournal.com profile] asleeper had mentioned somthing like that in passing, but I thought she was just being nice.

Interesting.

well, if you're like me, you write like you speak and since our family speaks oddly, there ya go.

But I can't comment farther since you refuse to let me read what you write.

1) tanner? Mum would be pleased if we ever told her.

2) no mocking? you are no fun. :P

3) have you met our family? compare a conversation at the Hanson's to one at Chester's house. Trust me. We use strange word combinations.

Must go, fire alarm going off, need to close store prior to leaving, or so they tell me.

1) I know, I thought it would be cool to have a pen name. But now it's just annoying and I can't change it.

2) Shut up, shut up, shut up

3) Examples please.

Did the university burn down?

False alarm, but the firetruck was pretty.

I can't think of an example, but they are there.

I'm hungry, must go forage.

You do have a pretty distinctive writing style. Not many people can carry off the short, incomplete sentences without sounding like they have no grasp of the English language. For you, it gives a nice flow and a kind of poetry to your writing. I love that. :)

Plus, you can spell, you use good spacing, and (other than the short sentences) proper English and sentence structure. That can be rare at ff.net. *g* And I don't mean that in a catty way.

See? And here I thought I was just being lazy :)

Actually I blame a scientific writing course I took a while back. He had us read a long paper (7-10 pages), and condense it down to one page, then one paragraph and finally one line.

And I've never been the same since.

[glances around sheepishly] I have this tendency to never match up pennames or stories with the authors in other places, such as LJ. I do it quite frequently. I talked to [livejournal.com profile] stephkitty for months before I realized she was the same person that had e-mailed me with feedback months before, and told me to read The Brothers K.

And now I just did it with you. Have now put the stories together with the other person. =D God, this is creepy. I'm going to pay closer attention in the future. And now I have to go read all your stuff, because I'm curious about your writing style.

Hee hee, no problem. My penname couldn't be more different than my LJ name.

As for the writing style...all I can say is that I have a tendency towards melodramatic, and I like short sentences :)
